We Are One

Last spring, Minnetonka senior, Andrew Viger, known as Vigs to his friends, got in a long-boarding accident.  After being in a coma for several months, he is now awake and recovering. The Viger family has been through a lot in the last six months and they need your continued support during Andrew’s recovery.

Previously an active football and basketball player, Andrew is now working toward regaining memory and ability. He needs to relearn how to complete basic tasks such as eating and talking. His recovery is progressing and with his mindset, he is pushing hard to reach goals. With setbacks along the way, his dad described his progress on his CaringBridge site as, “Two steps forward, one step back.”

A huge part of Andrew’s recovery is support from his fellow students and community. Many fundraisers for Andrew have already taken place including events at both Cherry Berry and Chipotle. He also has gained amazing sponsors such as Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics, BlueHouse Reality, and Paquette. Through help from these great fundraisers and sponsors, money has been donated toward Andrew’s fund.

There are many ways you can help out Andrew and his family on their road to recovery. T-shirts and bracelets are for sale in the Skipper store, with proceeds going toward his recovery fund. In addition there will be a huge event called Gigs for Vigs, on November 29th in the commons from 6-10pm. There will be an entrance fee with the proceeds once more going to the recovery fund. The event will include live music, food, and door prizes, making the gathering both fun and for an awesome cause. Even wearing orange, to honor him is a great way to support Andrew. Help out Andrew and his family by taking part in their fundraisers and, “be a part of something VIG!”
