Where would we all be without our best friends? High school can be a tough time and it helps to have a pal to spend time with throughout your four years. A best friend supports you through everything and keeps you laughing through it all. High school may only be four years, but a good BFF is forever. So S/O to our best friends, thanks for being da true homies.

Here are 10 ways how you know your best friend is your best friend:

  1. Their fridge is your fridge.

You can go over to their house whenever you want to grab a quick bite to eat when you’re lacking yummy treats. They don’t care because they do the same to you and its not awkward or rude when you open their fridge in front of their parents.

  1. You basically share a closet.

Its not uncommon for you to find random pieces of their clothing laying around your house. You share sweatshirts, dresses, literally everything and they’re always down to let you borrow when you need to. And a true BFF doesn’t get mad when you “accidentally” keep that sweatshirt for an entire year.

  1. Your mom probably likes your best friend better than she likes you.

When you’re super close with your friend, conversations with their family aren’t awkward at all. You feel comfortable with their parents and siblings, and their pets feel like they’re yours too. Your mom probably often asks you what your best friend is up to. Your parents get along with them and love to talk to them and they’re basically a part of the fam now.

  1. You have a toothbrush at their house and they have one at yours.

You sleepover every other weekend so why wouldn’t you??

  1. You’ve survived an entire trip with them.

Forget sleepovers, road trips are the true test of friendship. If you can spend an extended period of time with this person in a car and not want to hurt them, then you guys are true BFFs.

  1. They always pick up your late night calls.

Best friends always know when you need to vent or you just need someone to talk to about what to wear tomorrow. Even when its 12 am and you’re probably depriving them of sleep, they’ll still pick up the phone and listen when you need it the most.

  1. You owe each other a lot of money but neither of you really cares anymore.

You’ve probably paid for the majority of their meals but that’s okay cause they’ve paid for their fair share of yours. You don’t mind paying for their food anymore because you’re just that close. They’ll just pay for the next cookie dough concrete and you guys will call it good.

  1. They’re brutally honest with you, but they mean well.

Best friends don’t feel the need to be fake and hide things from you. When you ask their opinion, they tell it to you straight. Sometimes its harsh, but you know they have your best interest in heart. And nothing is more valuable than a true friend who always keeps it real.

  1. You’ve found them hanging out at your house without you…several times.

They’re definitely comfortable at your house and happily treat themselves to your food and some Netflix when they come over.

  1. You don’t need to see each other everyday to stay best friends.

The best part of best friend is that they just get you. They understand that you have a busy schedule, because they do too. And you guys don’t have to do every activity together everyday to stay close. You can go a week without hanging and you’re still just as close as you were before.
