Whether or not you have seen Drake’s Hotline Bling music video, you probably haven’t been able to escape the memes associated with the video. It’s hard to hide from videos of Drake swinging a lightsaber or tennis racket on platforms like Vine or Instagram. People just can’t get enough of Drake and his goofy dance moves. As a fellow Drake fan, I wanted to analyze the top 3 reasons why people just can’t get enough of these memes and this iconic video.

  1. Drake’s outfit

This is probably the only time a rapper has ever worn a turtleneck.  It’s fun to poke holes at a guy whose outfit looks like a combination between something that Steve Jobs and your father would wear.

  1. The fact that he’s Drake

People love to hate a man who started from the bottom and who cares only about his money and the city that he’s from.  If you’re a celebrity, people are going to make memes around silly pictures of you. The fact that Drake is a highly publicized figure makes those dirty meme creators even more excited when a video comes out that depicts Drake doing weird things.

  1. Drake’s dance skills

It’s impossible for a meme creator to not feel something when Drizzy busts a move in Hotline Bling. Drake swings his arm so erratically, that it makes any viewer connect the dance move to the act of placing pepperoni on a pizza or dribbling a basketball. Drake’s moves are irresistible.
