Minnetonka High School’s yearbook, Voyageur, has been around since our school’s inception in 1952. Each of the 66 editions capture the lives of the students that have walked these halls and the life of the building as well. Google search long enough, and you’ll find a school on a lonely, snow covered hill, with nothing much else around. Obviously, it’s changed quite a bit, and that’s what’s great about yearbooks - they capture a period of tremendous change and memories to last a lifetime. However, the story behind the scenes is just as special.
Now that fall is here, the craving for comfort food is slowly taking over the country, particularly when it comes to french fries. A delicacy that originated in Belgium, french fries have become a staple American comfort food.
National Art Honors Society: an organization that many Minnetonka students have heard of but many have little understanding about. National Art Honor Society is a club at the high school that focuses on using arts to better the community. Through monthly meetings and continual art-based volunteer projects, NAHS is a dedicated group, helping both our community and those around the globe.
This summer, the play Spring Awakening took to the stage at the JSB Tek Box in Minneapolis. The show follows a group of teenagers in 19th century Germany who deal with numerous tragedies such as failure in school, abuse, suicide, and rape, all while trying to live up to the rigid expectations of society. These are some tough topics, but that’s precisely why the student-run Contra Theatre Company chose to perform it.
