What are you excited about for senior year?
[This] year I’m excited to be able to represent Minnetonka as your president and I really am excited to start brainstorming new ideas...I do know I can’t do this by myself though, and since We Are One, please if anyone has ideas or questions or anything. Don’t be afraid to tell anyone on Student Government!
Minnetonka High School has the reputation of being a big school with many possibilities for students in academics, athletics and art. The one thing MHS lacks is space. Locked between Highway 7 and residential neighborhoods, the high school has used up all of the available on-site land. While classrooms have been rebuilt to accommodate growing grade sizes and VANTAGE is off site, the one thing that remains drastically affected by lack of space is parking and transportation.
The approaching spring equinox, Tuesday, March 20, marks the official end to winter. But in spite of that, the weather doesn’t seem to be complying with the designated calendar seasons. When you think of spring, you probably don’t imagine piles of snow and winter coats still hanging on people’s shoulders. Yet, here in Minnesota, we are still getting strange weather patterns that inevitably bring snow, ice, and freezing weather. While this brings in questions of climate change and the lasting effects that it may have on our environment, it also has a more subtle environmental impact: the salting of roads.
What is happiness? Does it have an exact definition or is it just an emotion that overcomes you? Most people only know what happiness is by a feeling: the butterflies in your stomach or your heart skipping a beat. Everyone has their own take on what happiness means to them.
On Sunday, February 25th, the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics came to a close with the traditional Olympic Closing Ceremony. During the two-week international competition, the whole world had its eyes on the various sporting events. The most viewed sport from the United States was hockey, whereas South America viewed bobsledding the most, according to Business Insider.
The heart symbol is known all around the world as a representation of love, but most people do not know its origins. As a result of these ambiguities, there are many different theories explaining where this iconic symbol came from.
