Minnetonka Women’s Softball Will Knock It Out Of The Park This Spring

Minnetonka boasts many successful sports teams, one of them being its Girls Softball team. During the 2017-2018 school year, the varsity team won the Lake Conference and had a 15-7 record. The softball team has also won the state finals and conference finals in the past. However, much of the team last year was composed of graduating seniors, and, this year, many new players were added to the team.

Last year, the Minnetonka Boys Baseball team, led by Coach Paul Twenge, made their first appearance in the State Championships, ultimately falling to Stillwater. In the regular season, they went 16-4 and successfully became both Section AAA and Conference champions. This year, they are fighting to make it back and win it all.

No matter what sports event you go to, sports drinks seem to be everywhere. Whether consumed by athletes or people in the crowd, these drinks, such as Gatorade, are very popular. Gatorade was first created in 1965 by a team of researchers at the University of Florida, led by Robert Cade. It was originally developed to help the Florida Gators by replenishing the student-athletes with electrolytes lost during their games. Gatorade gained its immense popularity after the team credited Gatorade for helping them win their first Orange Bowl, and the rest is history. Recently, however, the supposed health benefits of those drinks have been questioned.
