It’s been so far, so good for the Minnetonka Skippers football team this year. At the time of this article they won their first three games including a dramatic seven point homecoming victory over number two in the state ranked Maple Grove. They now about to play their second consecutive road game as they go on the road to Lakeville South. After those they’ll have just two weeks until facing the number one ranked and winners of four of the last six state championships, Eden Prairie.

Spring is drawing nearer, and with the change in seasons comes the beginning of spring sports at Minnetonka High School. Captain’s practices for several sports have started already. Minnetonka spring sports took home two state titles last year, and both teams - boy’s tennis and boy’s golf - have every intention of repeating their accomplishment.

Boys’ Swim & Dive Team Named 2017 State Champions

Opening the meet was the 200-yard medley relay featuring swimmers Quinn Yeager, Corey Lau, Marco Conati, and Sam Schilling, who swam an All-American time of 1:29.20 to break a national public high school record. This record was set only a week before at the Indiana high school state championship with a time of 1:29.64. The medley relay came within half a second of breaking the original 2014 record in February at the True Team state meet, so actually breaking the record was something highly anticipated by many.
