Here’s Why the Minnesota Wild are Winning the Stanley Cup this Season

Yep. You read the title right. The Wild will win the Stanley Cup this year. The Wild is currently 34-12-5, which is good for 1st in the Western Conference and 2nd overall in the NHL, only behind the Washington Capitals. The Wild are a young team, led by an experienced coach in Bruce Boudreau, who last coached the Anaheim Ducks. Boudreau, who has coached almost 400 games, brings leadership and accountability to a Wild squad that has lacked both under the former administration of Mike Yeo, who is now head coach of the St. Louis Blues.

It’s Minnetonka’s 'hottest' new club: Winter Running. This club is for those who don’t have a winter sport and are looking to stay in shape during the harsh Minnesota coldness. Now, if you aren’t in cross country or track, I can understand why running in sub-zero temperatures isn’t exactly “appealing.” The endurance associated with running can be a challenge for some. In addition, running in the cold can make it much harder.

Nordic, or cross-country skiing, is thought to have been developed over 4500 years ago in the Scandinavian regions of Europe. The tradition continues here at our school. The Minnetonka High School Nordic ski team, or TNR for short, began their season at the end of October.
