With the celebrations of spring that the end of April inevitably brings, many families head to the grocery store to buy eggs. According to AgHires, close to 180 million eggs are purchased each year for Easter festivities. While eggs are traditionally associated with the Easter holiday, they also symbolize the spring season. This protein-packed food is used in an assortment of egg-related activities, from decorating to using them as a prize for an egg hunt.

May is a busy time of year at Minnetonka. There’s finals review and cramming in that extra hour of studying before the A.P. exam. There are track meets, and soccer games and an itch to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather. For administration, one of the biggest focuses of the coming month is getting ready for that big event on June 6th: graduation.

The 1970s in America were a time of division and change, facilitated by the rise of anti-war and civil rights movements. In the midst of these cries for progress, the country began taking strides towards environmental responsibility. Many students became more conscious of their environmental impact and made it a public concern. On April 22, 1970, Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day. Minnetonka Earth Club celebrated on April 22 by giving information about the day and holding activities like trivia at a table in the commons.

This saturday, March 9, students from schools all around the twin cities met at Minnetonka High School to participate in Minnetonka’s Model United Nations conference. The conference had students collaborate to find solutions to two international issues, free and fair elections in the African Union, and Safety of Journalists. When looking around, it was clear that a lot of work and organization was put into this event, and it was all made possible by the work of Minnetonka student leaders and advisers.
