Even though switching to daylight saving time has made our mornings before school dark again, it is pretty fair to say that spring is here. The time our frozen selves wearily trudged through the day in a school that should really have invested more in heating are over. With spring also comes decision time for seniors as they receive college acceptance (or rejection, but if you say it in parentheses, they don’t exist) letters. But, something more stressful than college is also on our way before the school year ends: IB and AP testing.

Opening the meet was the 200-yard medley relay featuring swimmers Quinn Yeager, Corey Lau, Marco Conati, and Sam Schilling, who swam an All-American time of 1:29.20 to break a national public high school record. This record was set only a week before at the Indiana high school state championship with a time of 1:29.64. The medley relay came within half a second of breaking the original 2014 record in February at the True Team state meet, so actually breaking the record was something highly anticipated by many.

Yep. You read the title right. The Wild will win the Stanley Cup this year. The Wild is currently 34-12-5, which is good for 1st in the Western Conference and 2nd overall in the NHL, only behind the Washington Capitals. The Wild are a young team, led by an experienced coach in Bruce Boudreau, who last coached the Anaheim Ducks. Boudreau, who has coached almost 400 games, brings leadership and accountability to a Wild squad that has lacked both under the former administration of Mike Yeo, who is now head coach of the St. Louis Blues.
