
Skylar Percy, ’26
Skylar has been swimming since she was six years old. From California to Minnesota she has continued to pursue this sport with a hardworking and focused mindset. She hopes to continue her swim career, into her post secondary military aspirations.
Q: How are you feeling about the swim season?
A: ”I’m very excited about the swim team so far, especially it being my last year. It’s a lot of lasts but it’s very fun making sure everything’s very memorable.”
Q: Do you have any advice for freshmen on the swim team?
A: “Make sure you push yourself and always try your best, focus on the little things because working hard and focusing on the details is very important before you get to where you’re going.”
Lucy Hoff, ’26
Lucy has been swimming with the school district for ten years not just for the competition but for all the benefits of swimming as a physical activity and as a second home. Lucy leads her teammates into this swim season, while also looking forward to swimming in college.
Q: Why do you like swimming over other sports?
A: “It’s nice to come together and actually accomplish something together instead of just individually.”
Q: Why do you keep coming back every year?
A:“I really like the friends and overall it’s a really good workout and clears my head and makes me able to be a better person.”
Q: What is your favorite team tradition?
A: ”After the state meet we all have a sleepover with our whole team of like 80 girls.”
Caroline Dosek, ’26
Caroline has been diving for Minnetonka Girls Swim and Dive for two years with an open mindset and a care for her swimming community. Formerly a gymnast, Caroline brings her individual skills to the team, and an optimistic outlook of the year ahead.
Q: Do you like gymnastics or diving better?
A: “I think there’s a lot of different aspects of both that I like, because gymnastics has more variety. They had bars, vault, beam, and floor and diving is just kind of like flipping into the water.”
Q: What aspects about the diving team make it worth it for you?A: ”It’s nice to see girls in the hallway who are a part of my team and build community that way.”
