The winter months are upon us and the roads are getting icy. Over half of the people in our school are licensed drivers, so it is important to be prepared in case of any sudden car problems, breakdowns, or accidents due to the slippery roads and freezing weather. Here are the essentials that will help keep you safe this winter:

For those who don’t know Darryl Schorle, he is one of the stars of the Cove. Through an interview with him, I was able to get a glimpse of his amazing life and his eight years at the Cove. He shared everything, including personal and life-changing moments. In dedication to Schorle’s years at Minnetonka, I asked students to describe him in their own words.

Robots are Getting More Advanced — and Much More Dangerous

In October of this year, Saudi Arabia awarded citizenship to a humanoid robot named Sophia, created by the Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics. It is the first robot to have ever been awarded a legal citizenship. This is a dangerously large step in advancing robots to the status of humans. Sophia does not deserve our respect as a human—or any other living thing—because, though it accomplishes the task of seeming human incredibly well, it is not one.

Minnesota Tradition Explained: Origin of Pickle Ornament Competition

The Pickle Ornament Tradition is a Christmas tradition where one of the parents in the family hangs a glass pickle ornament on the tree, and whichever child in the family finds it first receives an extra present. It is also rumored that the child who finds it will receive good luck for the next year.
