As September of the 2018-19 school year wraps up, the new freshmen class is finally growing accustomed to the ins and outs of high school life. However, they’re also now realizing it’s not everything that media suggested it would be. Zac Efron lied. Class of 2022, we now speak directly to you.

[This] year I’m excited to be able to represent Minnetonka as your president and I really am excited to start brainstorming new ideas...I do know I can’t do this by myself though, and since We Are One, please if anyone has ideas or questions or anything. Although their last year of high school has just begun, Minnetonka seniors have already started their preparations for life after graduation. Overwhelmed with senior-specific guidance counselor meetings and a flood of emails from programs aimed at graduating seniors, it’s hard not to feel the pressure to begin planning.

After a month into the school year, teachers are assigning homework most nights and students have to find a way to balance school and relaxation. Some students have multiple hours of work a night. The elementary school question of “Do I have homework?” transforms into “What do I absolutely need to get done tonight, and what things are not as important?” Thus begins the cycle of procrastination.

Minnetonka High School has the reputation of being a big school with many possibilities for students in academics, athletics and art. The one thing MHS lacks is space. Locked between Highway 7 and residential neighborhoods, the high school has used up all of the available on-site land. While classrooms have been rebuilt to accommodate growing grade sizes and VANTAGE is off site, the one thing that remains drastically affected by lack of space is parking and transportation.

One of the most talked about movies of the year is Crazy Rich Asians, a feel-good romantic comedy that is bound to leave a legacy in Hollywood. The first major studio release to feature an all-Asian cast in over twenty years, Crazy Rich Asians is a hit with both the box office and critics.
