It has been almost a month since Minnetonka’s annual homecoming parade, and, for the most part, it is now a fun and exciting memory. People of all ages lined the streets amongst a flurry of blue and white decor, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the dozens of decorated floats that soon streamed by.

With college application deadlines quickly approaching, many seniors are hunkering down to make headway in deciding where to go for college by touring. Many of them toured over MEA. Some bought round-trip tickets to places as far as New York or Arizona. In less than a year, some of these students will be trading their round-trip in for a one-way ticket.

With fall comes apple picking, sweater weather, Halloween, and for students, the Preliminary SAT (PSAT). The PSAT is a standardized test that is available throughout high school, but students usually take it junior year. However, the PSAT is much more than just preparation for the SAT. The scores from the PSAT junior year will determine who receives the National Merit Scholarships, highly respectable academic scholarships.

2018 South African International Studies Students’ Arrival in Minnesota

The International Studies program at Minnetonka High School, directed and led by Chet Masteller, allows for a unique experience and opportunity to build a relationship between Minnetonka students and students from a school in another country. It is a program offered at Minnetonka that is unlike any other. Students begin communicating with another student in a different country about six months before the exchange happens.
The College & Career Center is an excellent resource for MHS students.

A Step Beyond Traditional College: Alternative Post-High School Options

Although their last year of high school has just begun, Minnetonka seniors have already started their preparations for life after graduation. Overwhelmed with senior-specific guidance counselor meetings and a flood of emails from programs aimed at graduating seniors, it’s hard not to feel the pressure to begin planning.

A Club that has Students Hooked: Pirate Club at MHS

As a school known for numerous nautical themes and puns, it is fitting that MHS now has its very own Pirate Club. Ben Johnson, ‘18, and Ethan Quaye, ‘18, started Pirate Club as their IB CAS project.
