Studying for the ACT can be incredibly nerve racking, especially with the pressure of college applications approaching. Scrolling through lists of ACT prep classes and tutors that cost hundreds to thousands of dollars can only add to the stress surrounding the ACT. Fortunately, ACT aspirants can achieve a high score on this intimidating test without wiping out their entire savings account.

Human Rights and Relations Club was started just over a year ago by three concerned students who have taken the club to new heights. Maria Plombon, ‘18; Aubrey Salita, ‘18; and Anna Jones, ‘18, started this club just after the 2016 presidential election with the help of their advisor, Mr. Boline. Although this club has been around for little over a year, it started to gain momentum this fall.

Muslim Student Association (MSA), is one of the newest and fastest growing clubs at MHS. The club was started last year by a passionate student. Almost a year later, it has accumulated approximately thirty kids. So why exactly was this club started? According to Abdi, she wanted Muslim and non-Muslim students alike to a have a space to openly discuss issues going on at MHS and around the world.

There is no doubt that MHS has a vast assortment of clubs to choose from, ranging from world language to recreational clubs and everything in between. However, there seems to be one fellowship club that stands out from the others, a place where everyone is welcome and a message of love and positivity echoes strongly. Gender Sexuality Alliance, or GSA, is a club where students gather to show and receive support from members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

Post-Secondary Enrollment Option: Another Way to Receive College Credit

The Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) is offered to all Minnetonka juniors and seniors who fit the requirements to enter the program and are interested in receiving college credit that is different from AP or IB courses. Some tenth graders are also eligible to take one Career and Technical Education course through the program. PSEO students take courses on actual college campuses while they are still high school students, and the cost of tuition and textbooks is covered by the State of Minnesota.
