Health Tip of the Month

Starting this year at Breezes, we are going to feature a health tip of the month that should help you achieve a happy, healthy lifestyle.  An amazing staff member will write each of these monthly tips, so be on the lookout for one of your favorite teachers or staff members!  Our first tip comes from Ms. Eyrich, a teacher of European and World History at MHS and a secret vegetable connoisseur.  Take Ms. Eyrich’s advice to eat healthy, local food to help you “feel good” and power your brain.

“To make myself more excited about eating healthy, I like to go to the farmer’s market and pick out all kinds of fresh vegetables.  When I take them home I cut up a bunch of them right away and mix them together with some type of light oil and vinegar dressing.  This helps marinade the veggies and makes a healthy snack or side dish to be eaten many times over the next week.  Because I’ve taken the time to go to the farmers market, get the veggies, and make the salad, I often end up choosing to eat this over other less healthy items, and that makes me feel good.”
