Over the summer, Brynne and I (your Editor-in-Chief and one of your copy-editors, respectively) spearheaded the creation of the Writing Center’s new blog, Writing It Out. Hopefully you’ve seen a link or two on Twitter and maybe even visited the site. Right now, with a mere two posts, it’s looking a bit sparse. But check it out anyway. New posts, written by our team of writing coaches, will be uploaded on Thursdays. (That’s tomorrow . . . hint, hint.)

Our primary goal is to expand the Writing Center’s reach and to “get us out there.” Whether you visit the Writing Center all the time, hang out in there during zero hour, or you’ve yet to set foot through our doors, the blog is a resource for you. It’ll have tips for effective writing, advice on the writing process, book reviews and recommendations, opinions on writing, and our quarterly conferencing statistics. It’s a place you can turn to for everything from advice on intro paragraphs (perhaps when you’re unable to find time for a conference) to a place you can look for a relatable story on the toils of college essay writing.
