When searching for a place to grab dinner, where do you go? Noodles, Chipotle, Panera, maybe Maynards? You’ll just get the waffle fries or your favorite burrito bowl, right? Of course, these places are integral to our high school survival, but we are surrounded by some of the best restaurants in the Minneapolis area. Yet we continue to go to our regulars. Switch it up! You may not live here forever and there are some killer options surrounding you. Here are some of my favorites:

  1. Amazing Thailand, Uptown

This place is located in uptown and is absolutely to die for. Included on the menu are amazing cream cheese puffs and even better fried rice. Also, the location is killer; Uptown is always vibing, so it’s the perfect place for a gathering.

  1. The Muni, Wayzata

Also known as Wayzata Bar and Grill, this cute restaurant can be overlooked by other more uprated restaurants in the area. It has great sandwiches, wraps, and burgers; my personal favorite is the Roasted Red Pepper Chicken Wrap (seriously, so good). Plus their sweet potato fries are off the hook. It has great prices and a nice location. It’s perfect for a date, a family outing, or just about anything!

  1. Yum, Uptown or Hopkins

Yum is widely known for their baked goods, but they have wonderful dinner and lunch food. It’s an easy in, easy out type of place with a very upbeat environment. You could probably try anything on the menu and enjoy it from their salads to their macaroni. What tops this restaurant off is it only uses all natural ingredients.

  1. World Street Kitchen (WSK), Uptown

WSK started as a local food truck and was too good to stay small. This restaurant focuses on food influenced by streets all over the world. Prices average around $12 and most dishes can be arranged for vegan diets. If you’re a beginner, try the Yum Yum Rice bowl. The environment is very laid back, chill, and open to all people. Really, the place is just as cool as the food.

  1. The Suburban, Excelsior

New as of last year, this is a close and perfect place to bring friends. Located in the always moving Excelsior, you’re bound to have a great time. They have a phenomenal California BBQ pizza, a delicious Meat Your Maker, and a pizza with mac and cheese on it. Yes, I said mac and cheese. The Suburban has all natural meat and features local suppliers like Peace Coffee and Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream.

So, before you embark on your next food run, think about the alternatives! Don’t miss out on these fabulous eats.
