Towns in this region include Tshane and Orapa and the Morokweng crater is located underneath it. Flamingos are known to flock to the Makgadikgadi Pan, which is located in this area’s namesake basin. Can’t name the region? Just ask a quiz bowl member! Quiz Bowl is a team-based, competitive trivia club. The topics of the questions asked in this club range from politics to current events or even pop culture. Teams are decided by the skill levels of the participants and they compete in invitational style tournaments in the West Division of the Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl League. Our Quiz Bowl team competes extremely well against those from other schools (110 teams from 35 schools). Last year, we even made it to nationals! It’s a longstanding club here at MHS, and it’s growing every year. It’s still not too late to join, and there are no formal requirements- all you need is an interest in trivia. The club meets from 2:45 to 4:00 in room 2402 on Wednesdays. If you are interested in joining you can go to one of the practices or email senior Jesse Thorson, one of the club’s advisors, at [email protected].

*Question taken from quizbowldb.com, the answer is the Kalahari Desert.
