Freshman: Varsity

Sophomore: Symphonic

Junior and Senior: Wind Ensemble

Instruments: Trombone and Piano

Why Trombone? : “I like the slide I think it looks cool. I actually have no idea. It just came to me one day in elementary school. I was like I want to play the trombone and here I am.”

After High School? : “Yeah. All the schools I’m applying to have Jazz bands and stuff.”

Outside of School? : Brass (sophomore-senior) and Jazz Ensemble (freshman-senior). I’m also a member of a small rap group, Hellen Smeller. We’re performing at Coffeehouse.

Something Special About First Chair: “You get to work on a little more ornamentation. You can embellish notes. I guess you have a little more creativity. Being first chair you get to lead phrasing. It’s kinda nice being a senior and finally being there.”

Jazz Ensemble: “We’re possibly going to New Orleans this spring break and playing at some big convention, so that’s pretty cool. We’ve got a really good group this year.”
