It’s no secret that Minnetonka High School has a lot of classes, but you may not know that almost 80 different classes are offered fully online.
The Tonka Online program offers a large variety of classes in nearly every subject area, ranging from American Sign Language and Neuroscience to even Yoga and Calculus. I’m taking my first Tonka Online class this year, ASL III, and I’ve especially enjoyed the freedom that it’s given me in my learning. One may think that it’d be harder to learn outside of a traditional class setting, but I’ve found that if you’re a student that can stay on top of your classwork, the material is actually more condensed and in some cases more straightforward to understand.
Since COVID, online learning has become somewhat of a norm in our daily lives. Some students may struggle going back after spending so much time away from school and opt to take an online class instead. With so many online course offerings, students can even receive an entire high school diploma through Tonka Online, making it a great option for students with health complications, athletics, family situations, or students out of district. The Tonka Online program allows MHS to grow its enrollment. I would highly recommend Tonka Online to anyone looking for a flexible, independent, and varied course for their 2026-2027 school year. Although ASL III is my first online course at Minnetonka High School, I can say with confidence that it will not be my last.
Check out these new courses being added next year!
